Subject: Superior Fall Trail Race 2018 Volunteer Email 2

[Thank you in advance for taking the time to review this email – it will take you approximately 3 minutes to read this.]

Hello SUPERIOR Volunteers!

You are receiving this email because you have signed up to volunteer for the 2018 Superior Fall Trail Race 100M, 50M and 26.2M, Friday Sept 7 & 8, 2018 (and / or the days leading up to or after) – we cannot thank you enough for your help! Your name is on the volunteer list HERE https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/volunteer-assignments/ – once we start making volunteer assignments, they will show here as well.

This is an intermediate email intended to do communicate the following:

a.) Confirmation that I have received your info and am reviewing it – thank you.

b.) [This is a big / important one] To encourage aid station captains and other volunteer leads (along with any other volunteers) to recruit / encourage your friends, family etc. to join you in volunteering and, if you are successful in rounding up some more help, ask them to get on our list by signing up to volunteer HERE https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/volunteer-signup/ , we would like to have 95% of this years volunteers signed up by mid-next-week so we know what we are working with or where we still have needs.

c.) To let you know that I will be starting to make volunteer assignments late next week.

We are still looking for help with the following skill positions:

a.) Help with runner tracking. This is a good assignment for people with good computer / data entry skills. This is an indoor job at Caribou Highlands / the race finish, working in concert with our Ham Radio operators entering 100 mile runner aid station in and out times into our tracking software. If you are interested in this specific assignment or know a good candidate, please let me know!

b.) Medial professionals. We are always looking for more medical volunteers.

c.) Professional level or above average social media (photography / writing) skills for on the ground reporting / social media coverage on race weekend.

d.) Professional level or above average photography skills.

e.) Food service – to work as our conduit / in concert with Caribou Highlands staff for the post race chili feed on Saturday.

f.) Post race cleanup at our home in Hastings, MN on Monday September 10, 2018.

Again, you can expect volunteer assignments to start being made late next week and should keep an eye out for additional emails from me in the coming weeks. If in the interim you have any questions, comments or concerns, please let me know!

Thank You,

John Storkamp
